How does hydrogen work through the skin? copyUpdated 2 hours ago

The skin as an entry point

The skin is the body's largest organ and is permeable to small molecules. Molecular hydrogen (H₂) is the smallest molecule in existence, which makes it uniquely suited to penetrate the skin barrier and diffuse into skin layers, where it may reach circulation, muscles, and tissues.

What happens during a hydrogen bath

When H2Tab Bath Tablets dissolve in warm water, they generate a high concentration of dissolved molecular hydrogen in the bath. As you soak, this hydrogen is absorbed through the skin and into the layers beneath it.

How does this differ from drinking hydrogen water?

Drinking hydrogen water delivers molecular hydrogen systemically via the digestive tract and bloodstream, supporting whole-body cellular function. A hydrogen bath delivers molecular hydrogen transdermally, reaching the body through a different entry point and supporting the tissue it comes into direct contact with, such as muscles, skin, and joints.

What influences absorption?

  • Water temperature: For best results, use warm water. Avoid extremely hot or boiling water, since heat makes hydrogen dissipate more quickly.
  • Soak duration: We recommend soaking for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Tablet quantity: Using the recommended ratio of one tablet per 5 gallons helps provide a meaningful concentration of hydrogen throughout the bath.
